Some readers ask me about other blogs providing advice about China sourcing or China business in general. I listed a few good blogs below (in no particular order–they are all good).
Silk Road International blog: David lives in Shenzhen and deals with Chinese manufacturers on a daily basis. I love his detailed descriptions and candid analyses of all the traps and how to plan for them.
China Law Blog: a great resource for all curious minds with an interest in China. Dan gives advice that few consultants will think of, but that can save your business (just an example: did you know that importers should register their trademark in China even though they have no plan of selling anything there?)
Imports Oriental Blog – I like Danny’s angle on some unique “Chinese cultural things”, and Tanya does a great job of spotting the best content from other blogs.
Quality Wars: written by my friend Andrew, who also lives in Shenzhen. Contains some excellent information for quality control practitioners and for demanding importers. Unfortunately, new articles are rather irregular – keep it up!
Whit’s China Business Blog: halfway between China sourcing tips and commentary of the latest weird news. Also rather irregular, but worth following.
I should also mention a few other websites that are not exactly blogs but that provide regular reading:
- China Briefing: news and analyses about China business environment
- Smart China Sourcing: timely articles from the Global Sources editorial team
- CHaINA Magazine, from the Supply Chain Council
Any other blog that posts consistently about China sourcing/manufacturing issues?
