Last year, Gartner came up with a study about the problems of importers in China.
It listed the following issues:
- Fake certificates
- Price increases after the order is confirmed
- Reduction of product quality over time
- Frequent shipment delays
- No respect for intellectual property
I guess that survey was conducted with purchasers from the US, Europe, and Australia.
But what about the importers located in developing economies? Surely they are more used to this kind of behavior, right?
Well, not at all. They are just as frustrated as buyers from “developed countries”. That’s what David Dayton noticed when he met with buyers in Dubai (read his article here). Here is the list of concerns that he heard repeatedly:
- No respect for contracts — several rounds of price negotiations
- No honesty, generally speaking. The only focus is on getting a cash deposit
- Quality degrades as soon as the buyer reduces pressure
- Manufacturers always want to cut the trader/importer out of the deal, and go direct to the final buyer
- No status reports, even when the supplier knows there will be delays
- Circumvention, or faking, of laboratory test results
Pretty similar list of complaints, isn’t it?

For such a small sum of money, it is not worth the hassle to chase the supplier. Seems like you’ve been scammed. Next time, make sure you do business with a good company.

Hi,
We have paid 1600US$ to Suzhou LVYI Intelligent Technology, https://lvyitech.en.alibaba.com/
They have given very bad sample, which never worked,They never supplied products for the money paid, nor refunding the money.
Now they are telling stories for refunding the same.
Kindly DO NOT BUY from this company.
The product quality is extremely bad.
We visited their offices, spent huge amounts of money to promote their product, but the quality is very bad, the nail on coffin is the management is least bothered to refund money if they are not giving a product towards the money.
PLEASE BEWARE.
Various websites they are using are
